The Food Service Professionals Association (FSPA) mission is to support and elevate our members by promoting professionalism, encouraging ethical business practices, and providing leadership and strategic direction.
The FSPA is South Africa’s only professional food service association of consultants, designers, and catering equipment suppliers.
Supplier membership includes professionals involved in sourcing, manufacturing, distributing, or sales of commercial kitchen equipment. Suppliers ensure reliable, compliant, and high-performance solutions that help SA food service operations run efficiently across hospitality, retail, healthcare, and education sectors.
Designer membership is for professionals who design and coordinate commercial kitchens, food prep areas, and dining layouts. With a focus on safety, compliance, and functionality, Designers enhance operations across restaurants, cafés, hotels, hospitals, schools, takeaways, and corporate food service spaces.
Consultant membership is for professionals who provide expert advice and guidance to food service establishments to improve their operations, efficiency, and profitability. A consultant may specialise in one or several fields, such as training, menu development, nutrition, kitchen planning, feasibility studies, and food safety.
About the FSPA
The Food Service Professionals Association (FSPA) was conceptualised in 2020 during the height of COVID-19 and formalised in 2024 as a non-profit voluntary professional association with a mission to support and elevate our members by promoting professionalism, encouraging ethical business practices, and providing leadership and strategic direction. The FSPA is governed by its constitution and overseen by the Executive Committee. It consults regularly with both local and global industry specialists to ensure relevancy, up-to-date standards, and compliance.
